Shock Waterproof Digital Camera

A shock waterproof digital camera was launched by Casio America, Inc. in November 2009. It was also reported to be dustproof, and was called EX-G1 and was the first camera of the company's new brand known as EXILM G.

Back in 1983, Casio had introduced its first shock-resistant watch, the G-Shock which remains today very popular with consumers around the world because of its toughness and unique design, even under the most severe environmental situations.

Another first for the company occurred in 2000, when the company introduced the first water-resistant cell phone.

The company is creating a products category it is calling "endurance", and will be focusing its efforts on products that will meet the need of adventurers and top athletes. This category will be catering to those who dare to challenge the physical conditions of their environments and also their own limitations. The company has had many years perfecting technologies dealing with slim-line design, waterproofing and shock resistance, and those properties have been incorporated in the design and functionality of EX-G1.

The camera is very sleek and has a slim lined design, and it has shock-resistant parts both on the inside and the outside. It takes very high resolution photographs, about 12.1 megapixels images, and it also has controls for capturing multiple images and for shooting at intervals. When interval shooting, the camera can be set for either video capture or taking still photographs. This useful feature can be effectively used to capture athletes engaged in their sports, like cycling and snowboarding.

Regardless of why you may require the features of such a camera, whether because of your sporting hobby activities or because your job requires it, a EX-G1 camera can endure the toughest tasks it may be put through on a daily basis. It is by far the toughest camera that Casio has produced to date, and demonstrates the company's desire to meet the needs of every level of photographer in the market.

The camera has been put through the rigorous testing which has included drops from seven foot heights. The camera consists of an outer-casing of stainless steel, a 2-layer construction and the ability for the inner body cavity to with stand water damage and shock. The body is covered with a resin material for protection of the body side around the shutter, also a lens ring of resin is positioned to protect the lens.
